According to determinism, predicting behaviour should be completely possible, as things are meant to become what they become anyway. In this case, fortune telling is not a pseudo-science , but a science based on determinism. Nostradamus' predictions of the future could not be completely wrong, as predictions are possible to make.

predictive algorithms make assumptions. but an increased probability of success in prediction based on experience is the hallmark of learning and why we as a species rock. the problem with prediction is any system designed to predict will be predictable itself... and that can be exploited.

mind you, people being predictable makes them exploitable as well.

yes

no. meant implies super-being. i can be a determinist without believing in super-being.

???>fortune telling is not a pseudo-science, but a science based on determinism

you're right, fortune telling is not a pseudo-science, rather not even a pseudo-science. there is nothing scientific about it at all.

i am a determinist. ie every action and moment is governed by all of the previous actions and moments that came before. free will is an illusion. however this is not to say that it was meant. perhaps i could be called a soft determinist while you are a hard determinist or visa versa.
