so i just found out that a chinese company started making SSD's for old thinkpads (which used odd 1.8" drives). Brings them back to life. Cant wait to get one.

link for the aforementioned

newegg has some ssd drives that are 1.8", but the ones they carry don't come in pata.

you can always just get a cf card like this because cf uses the pata interface. it should fit in a 1.8" hole.

i heard these king spec ssd's were waaay faster than a cf card though. plus dont you have the lower writes issue?

man. i have a x41T here with a dead drive. I want to swap the drive but I want to see if I can find a good X40 which I like much more. I'd take a slower X40 and trade thsi thing.

only cuz I have a replacement internal wificard I bought for it, but turns out it only works on the X40, i dont care for the tablet and actually dont like the monitor connection, the x40 is lighter, etc, etc

if only sleep/resume worked on the x60(s) i would just buy that and call it a day. dont know of any other laptops worth a shit on openbsd.

yah, i think so. i think the cf is just a very inexpensive solution. just something to consider. :)
