i guess there is a need to remove content from the website occasionally, such as when content:

(a) may be libelous,
(b) violates copyright law, or
(c) threatens a person's security or property.

in light of this, i will make a feature that will allow the administrator to make a revision private, so that only the administrator may view its contents.

like the placeholder for archived revisions, there will be a placeholder for private revisions.

to get a revision marked as private, you must demonstrate at least one of the above three conditions.

can you think of any other conditions under which content should be removed from public view?

the law is no protection
I assume this would fall under (c), but if someone accidentally posts personally (to themself) sensitive information by accident or in poor judgment.

what about a way to remove the revision totally, so even an admin can't view it? say someone posted my credit card number or other personal info. I wouldn't want even an admin to have the ability to view that after it was removed from the public forum.

i thought about that. by administrator, i mean system administrator. this likely means that they have access to backups that contain the sensitive information anyway. but, yes, i think it should be withheld from anyone who isn't the sysadmin.
