yeah, people all over are talking about this. it went down around 3:30 at work for me. I couldn't get it from my phone either, but other people had been saying that IMAP was working (maybe Android doesn't use IMAP or only IMAP in it's Gmail app?). chat was up. I was able to sign in via Adium. now the web interface and everything else is back up too.
