Because some annoying git may repeatedly click the Reply button, which is what happened on my old ttf powered forum a while ago.

So why not add a sort of timer which only allows the user to post again within about 10 seconds?

yeah it pisses me off that people don't realise OS icons are the only buttons what require double click. I believe my Mum does it too.

because i sometimes want to make multiple posts within ten seconds of each other.
a mechanism to check for duplicate content would be more reasonable.

Maybe it's simpler to have a timer a per thread.
Edit: Maybe not... I was assuming the on-purpose multiple posts would be on different threads but I don't think that makes much sense.

Speaking of double posts and such...does anyone else have a problem clicking "click to post"? I consistently have problems with it (often at least once each time I visit) and have to click it twice before my posts show up.
And they never show up as doubles.
i never do. that's interesting--

So has this glitch been fixed yet?

let's make it so my grandmother can use ttf

i'd argue that the glitch is in your finger. so no, ttf is not robust to your finger's glitches.

I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate timers between posts. so annoying. I type fast!!
you could do some javascript to disable the reply/submit/click to post button after it's clicked once, but I remember you being averse to javascript in the past, lucas, so I don't know if you'd be into this. it's not really that big of an issue anyway.

good thread.
yeah, i can do the javascript thing. i'd prefer a server-side script that checks for an identical post (same content, same thread, same author) within five seconds of each other. it's a kind of timer, but it's a smart one that should not hinder any true usability.

how about a button called "you're fucking banned" instead
is this feature meant to correct stupidity or hinder malicious behavior? saving users from themselves is a lot different than saving the thread from a user
hahaha
