She got a 50 thousand dollar advance on the book... which is not that much.
I hesitate to say it, but I may make more at my day job than this book's sales generated for the author.
That being said, I am sure authors get paid occasionally for speaking engagements and the sort if they are widely recognized anyways... and there's movie options if the book gets the attention of a bunch of coke addled whores in la.
