This was interesting. I mean regardless of many people's opinions on it... it was very interesting.

I don't think it's a secret that Jon Stewart plays favorites to the Democratic candidates. And, in the last election he was definitely supporting the Obama front.

So, to see him talk to Obama 2 years on is interesting. Especially since so much of his conversation is somewhat aggressive, albeit reserved.

I don't think that Stewart wants to see a republican majority, and even though I tend to support classical conservatism myself, I don't think I am very happy with what the tea party hath wrought. But, at the same time, it's also fairly obvious that the democrats, and Obama in particular are not delivering on their promises. Of course, Obama actually does a fairly good job of arguing against that.

So all in all a pretty good conversation. Fun to watch, and somewhat insightful.

Here's the really interesting bit though. Why is Jon Stewart suddenly the most important name in political commentary. He runs a satirical news show on comedy central. Is this the pinnacle of democracy in this day in age? I think it's obvious to everyone that things are not right in dear old camelot.

And video clips like this one really do provide something of a focal point for a whole range of issues that are left very much unsaid but acutely obvious.

Whatever the future holds, right now it does not look pretty. And to that I agree with Stewart. Where did HOPE go? And who are the right people?

I don't think jon stewart is doing anything very different from what he's always done. first and foremost, the daily show is comedy, but beneath that comedy is often some pretty incisive political commentary from stewart. so yeah, I don't know why he's more important or popular now (is he?).

this interview was interesting, though I wish there was more foreign policy talk. politics bore me.

we do keep getting fucked on our foreign policy negotiations.
