hp officejet h470wf has wifi for about $300
hp officejet h470wbt has bluetooth for $240
canon pixma ip100 has infrared for $184 (no battery!)

that's pretty slick. I wouldn't mind having one of those.

i like laser printers because they're fast and crisp.

i dislike laser printers because the toner can easily wear off the page. it's not durable, and it's certainly not archival in the slightest. if i mail something with a laser-printed label, i always tape over it, lest the toner wear off in transit.

i've come to appreciate ink-jet a lot.

hp officejet h470b ($200 @ amazon) + wifi adapter q6274a ($54 @ b&h) = solid combo for $254

the pixma also sounds nice, but if you buy it and the battery, it puts you at $273 (still without wifi).

the canon's base price is comparable to the hp's, but the canon's accessories are expensive.

they're about the same size and weight. the canon has a bit higher resolution, and the hp is a bit faster.

hp has replaced the officejet h470 with the officejet 100 ($230 from j and r). the hp officejet 100 comes with a battery and built-in bluetooth.

the other product to consider is still the canon pixma ip100 ($195 from amazon). but the ip100 does not come with a battery or bluetooth. you have to buy those separately.
