I think I need to quit texting altogether. I'm just no good at it. Phone calls or bust. I could turn off texting on my cellular line, I suppose.
Cellular sucks anyway.
I've looked into getting a land line multiple times over the last few years. It seems that traditional copper service can be hard to come by. SIP/VoIP seems to be fairly prevalent, and for good reason, I suppose.
The 'Obihai OBi200 , which offers SIP/VoIP with Google Voice, used to be plentiful and cheap on Amazon. No longer, it seems. Google and Amazon suck anyway.

it seems i'd need a voip provider, though. ooma seems somewhat cheap ($6.50/mo in my town). but i think google voice would be free if i can manage to get it working
