anyone here doing any speculative investing?
i wish i had liquidity when the indices bottomed out. but i got some cash a little too late and missed it.
i had my eye on oil and energy, but i feel like that market is a little to complicated for me to make some simple wagers.
right now i have my eye on airlines, mostly delta and alaska.

i bought AAL, ALK, DAL, and LUV when they were fairly near their recent lows. i rode them up a bit and sold with about a 20% return. then they continued to climb, and i was pretty disappointed i didn't hold longer; return could have been around 100%. but then they corrected back down to the pre-trend
pretty small stakes--i turned $500 into $600. big deal. just gambling for fun, i guess.
