these days i always travel with my 27" monitor.

i've been using the original box and packaging, but it's starting to get beat-up. so i've been looking into alternatives.

obv pelican cases come to mind, but theirs are often not well-proportioned for air travel. plus they are bulky, heavy, and pricey.

i love lojel. i bought my suitcase from them about ten years ago. this last year, they sent me a replacement wheel for free--my favorite kind of customer service.

they have a large hard case that would fit a 27" monitor: the lojel voja large

the best thing about many of their hard-case luggage is the lack of a zipper closure, which are easily pried apart with a butter knife. rigid metal seals and locks, please! (and thank you.)

[see also my review of the new york times review of a gimmicky lojel model with zipper closures.]

dope--i emailed my lojel cs rep back when i just wrote the post above. i said a second wheel is going out and will need replaced. i asked if she could replace all three old wheels. she told me yes! the suitcase is 8 years old and will be like new. so stoked

because my older yellow carry-on will be like new, i don't need to replace it. and i don't want a second yellow case. so i'll order the voja large in terracotta

when i travel with my monitor, i'm sure i'll usually have enough room to pack things around the monitor as a padding of sorts, so i won't usually also bring a carry-on.
