If you'd like to get rid of a post you can always archive them by hitting the button. It eliminates the post from visibility on the forum at your discretion.
isn't that deletion (from the user's standpoint)

eventually you'll be able to browse and recover your archived posts
and there may be a note like "this thread has archived posts" on thread.php, if applicable.
