do you will things to occur?

can there be physical consequences of psychological activity?
or... can your dreams manifest in reality?
do you perceive only a still reality, or do you construct a world with discretion of your perception?

would you be decisive regarding your perception if you were confident to will what you dream, to be?

are you more of a slave to your perception that you want to be?

I don't buy the whole willing things to occur..yet :). care to elaborate or explain more on how one could be physical consequences of psychological activity, dp?

this is interesting! I definitely think that, to an extent, worlds are constructed by individuals' selective (voluntary or involuntary, doesn't matter) perception.

I do, however, tend to believe that there is such a thing as objective reality. I think that's more of a comfortable belief than it is a well-justified one, though :).

would you be decisive regarding your perception if you were confident to will what you dream, to be?

what do you mean by this? are you asking if I would voluntarily selectively perceive the world if I thought that it would realize my dreams?

i think i'm going to have to invite phi here, for some reason i'm imagining "phi's pool house".
so are you basically saying our world is aligned by determinism?

Many kinds really. It was a question posed to me, and I'm mostly about what is emperical, but I got to thinking about how states of mind affect the world's reaction to me, or my perceptions of those reactions. To a limited extent I think that people do this subconsciously, a person will find how they operate, and find ways to sort of work it into their environment. Or they stick to the comfortability of their environment. I'm going to move on though...

crap I wrote this two days ago. I don't recall what I was going to say so I'll leave it here, and pick it up later.

i think that physical consequences of mental activity is most definitely a reality, given you believe in the existence of the physical world

in fact a friend of mine justified property rights through something similar to this... our dreams are manifest in our work and our possessions -> removing the right to possess this is akin to destroying our dreams

a little wonky utilitarian but it's epic

I am conflicted over this as well. Part of me blatantly refuses to believe that my will has power over that which can be defined through an obvious and physical chain of events. However I find myself in moments of passion (and perhaps moments of honesty) using concepts like spiritual connections, destiny, and what is "meant to happen". I am not sure if it was because the language of new age religions is what I was raised with that drives me to use such language when the language of my intellect is insufficient or if it is me letting down long established walls and accepting the absurd truth for that moment.
