lowe's has a 150 watt high-pressure sodium floodlight for about $60. i might go buy it and make my trees love it.

so it's a $20 setup.

- used no fertilizer
- watered it well
- enclosed it (and the pot) in a large, clear plastic bag
- kept it under my fluorescent light for a couple weeks

Why not set up some hydroponics? (not a pot joke, but a serious question -- though I'm not sure how bonsai will work without soil and pots and so on...)

I do that too...all the time! I like that now the yellow on the edges pops. I didn't notice it before!

i think my cotoneaster and gardenia trees have some kind of bug. i quarantined them from my ficus and doused them in a pesticide.
