Hope your easter was good. It seems whenever I don't talk to a girl for a while, especially an ex, they think I hate them for no apparent reason. I've worked on just saying hi and starting a nice conversation the first time I see/talk to em, to forgo the awkward hello after staring at each other and not saying anything. Of course this only applies in situations where you can establish conversations. Doesn't really sound possible in your case Nestor. But then again I dunno if you see each other at social gatherings. for me to feel true love for someone is to recognize that that person inspires me on a personal level to be greater than myself. A person who I truly summons my own divinity through his or her honesty (So this must be a separate definition from the blanket love or my family). There are a few people I love in this way and they know it. I like to think that they are also inspired to their own divinity through this connection.

I am of the opinion that most emotions are constructs, like colors. We we look at the ocean we choose to think either blue or green but a chinese person would simply think grue (blue-green). If some philosopher two thousand years ago thought of the emotion pibux (the feeling of getting cold water dumped on your head unexpectedly) and wrote a popular discourse on the importance of pibux in everyday life then everybody today might be running around talking about their pervasive sense of impending pibux every time they meant the "peace before the storm" or something else along those lines. Love is just another pibux, each individual gives it meaning, not some DNA trick.
For me the concept of love is almost entirely defined within a cultural context. The swedish have one word which means like, desire, love. On the other hand the Spanish have many words me caes bien (I like you, not sexually), me gustas (I like you sexually), te quiero (I love you), te amo (I love you deeply and passionately), te adoro (I adore you), te idalotro (I love you to the point of idolizing you, I have been told it works in Spanish but I think it is mostly for religious stuff) and I am probably forgetting some or never learned others.
In short I am hesitant of assigning too much power to genetic psychology (or whatever they call it nowadays). The mechanism that such a process would require seems overly complex but even if it existed it seems it could be easily circumvented by a potent mind.

How does one define love or happiness? A concept considered undefinable, untouchable, and unsee able. Some describe it as you just know. I have reached my own definition, evaluate it as you wish. When you care about someone else so much that their happiness is all that matters, despite how it may affect you. When you see them happy and smile it makes you happy and smile, it can't fail. If you are caught up in self regret, it will help nothing. And most likely it is from something from the past you can't change. No ones perfect, but simply try to improve yourself. At the end of the day, you decide if you are happy, no one else. If you aren't happy, how can you expect anyone else make you happy? Keep a positive attitude and no one can take that away from you. Disappointment is natural, but it is how we handle it, that matters. Wake up with a smile and don't let anyone affect your happiness, it is up to YOU.

i've slowly been getting over my ordeal, my best advice - go find a new girl. I've found no better way to fill a void of love than to start a new love. Doesn't mean you have to date, just get back out there.
